Squid Game O actor Yeong-Su accused of “sexual misconduct”

Squid Game is one of the most popular Korean web series that is known all over the world. Actor O Yeong-Su, who played the role of an old man named Oh Il-nam in the web series, was recently accused of sexual misconduct. Officials stated that the 78-year-old man is accused of inappropriately touching a woman in 2017.

According to a BBC report, O Yeong-Su has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct. However, the alleged victim had already filed a complaint against the actor in December 2021. However, her case was dismissed in April with no charges being filed against the Squid Games actor.

Meanwhile, according to the latest reports, it is now believed that the case will finally be reopened at the request of the victim and the Squid Game actor has been charged without detention.

The case has undoubtedly left a big mark on the actor’s professional career, as now the Seoul Ministry of Culture has decided to stop airing a government commercial that O Yeong-Su was airing.

On the other hand, the Squid Game actor has denied all sexual harassment allegations when questioned by prosecutors. In a statement, Yeong-su said: “I only took her hand to guide her around the lake.” Speaking to Korean news network JTBC, he added: “I apologized because (the person) said he wouldn’t make a fuss about it, but that doesn’t mean he admits the charges.”

Korean actor O Yeong-Su was born in the year 1944 in Kaesong. He started his professional acting career in the year 1967. Apart from Squid Game, the actor has been known for his role as an old monk in Kim Ki-Duk’s film “Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter…and spring”.
