Making a pretty shocking debut on Monday Night Raw in mid-October 2022, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows would return to WWE after a few years away after its release during the COVID-19 pandemic. Having spent most of that time away from Impact Wrestling’s tag team division, Anderson would also go on to hold a singles Championship in NJPW, a title he still holds despite being part of WWE’s active roster.
While the future remains unclear regarding Gallows & Anderson’s future in Japan, they appear to be committed to moving WWE forward. For those not yet familiar with the tag team formerly known as The Good Brothers or for those looking for a refresher, let’s take a look at the best matches from Gallows & Anderson’s career as a tag team!
10/10 Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI – Destruction of NJPW in Kobe 2014
While many wrestling fans have turned against Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows as a tag team, it’s likely because their first run in WWE left a lot to be desired, and the first year of their time in Impact Wrestling was less than great. However, there was a time when the two were seen as one of the best teams in the world, and a lot of that was due to the work they did in NJPW.
The two would defend the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles against the CHAOS tag team of Kazuchika Okada and YOSHI-HASHI, a rare tag team title match for The Rainmaker. Gallows & Anderson would retain their titles, in an above average match in which the two would earn the accolade of defeating Okada.
9/10 AJ Styles, Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. Kazuchika Okada, Matt Taven & Mike Bennett – NJPW G1 Climax 25
Featured in a grand six-man match for the semi-main event of the 2015 G1 Climax finale show, Gallows and Anderson would engage in a trio match. With Styles leading Gallows and Anderson as the Bullet Club team, Kazuchika Okada would lead The Kingdom, alongside Maria Kanellis, as the group faced off against their rivals.
A fun semi-main event, this match would feature two rivalries, with Okada vs. Styles and The Kingdom vs. Gallows & Anderson. Maria would also get involved, dancing on the ring apron to distract the entire Bullet Club team, something that would happen again years later on Impact Wrestling.
8/10 Dark Order vs. The Super Elite – AEW Dynamite 1/21/21
After Kenny Omega debuted on Impact, he would align himself with Don Callis and The Good Brothers as a new unit. Slowly working the Young Bucks into the group, in late January, The Good Brothers and The Young Bucks would team up in the main event of Dynamite to face Dark Order in an 8-man tag team match.
While this would come before the Young Bucks were completely changed, it would give AEW fans their first look at the unit that would become The Super Elite, with Gallows & Anderson and The Bucks being two of the top tag teams. throughout. world. This outing would see them take down the Black Order with all 8 men delivering hard.
7/10 Raw 4-Way Tag Team Ladder Match – WWE WrestleMania 33
The first WWE match in Gallows & Anderson’s career best matches would come at WWE WrestleMania 33. After coming to the company a year earlier during the spring of 2016, the duo would ultimately win tag team gold at the Royal 2017 Rumble. At WrestleMania that year, they would defend the belts in a 4-way ladder match against Enzo Amore & Big Cass, The Bar and the returning Hardy Boyz.
While the match would deliver in spades and serve as a great debut for Jeff and Matt Hardy, this would be another moment in Gallows & Anderson’s WWE careers that felt like they didn’t matter all that much. The duo would capture the belts once more in 2019 before being released the following year.
6/10 Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson & Kenny Omega vs. Laredo Kid, Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix – AEW Dynamite 3/25/21
During their time in AEW, Anderson and Gallows often teamed with Kenny Omega as a unique trio tag team. On March 25, 2021, the team would face a major tag team match, with Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix teaming with AAA standout Laredo Kid.
Since this is a random trio match, it would score lower than another marquee trio match for The Good Brothers & Omega on AEW, though it was still an excellent match that would give a big spotlight to Laredo Kid, one of the most underrated. fighters in the world today. The Super Elite would get the victory, as expected, with another strong performance for Gallows & Anderson.
5/10 Smackdown Tag Team Gauntlet Match – Smackdown Live 03/26/19
With the company firmly on the Road to WrestleMania, the match would see New Day starting the match and running the gauntlet to face Daniel Bryan and Rowan in the final match of the Gauntlet, moving on to the Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan match at WrestleMania 35.
The entire match would be spectacular, and the roles of Gallows and Anderson were important as they were Xavier and Big E’s first opponents in the match. The former Bullet Club stars would be eliminated in less than a minute as a way to show New Day’s seriousness, which was great, although it would be one of the worst losses of his career.
4/10 Chris Sabin, Moose and Rich Swann vs. Kenny Omega, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows – Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill 2021
Prior to capturing the Impact World Championship from Rich Swann, Kenny Omega would first wrestle at Impact’s Hard To Kill event in early 2021, where he would team with Gallows and Anderson to take on Moose’s Impact-led team Chris Sabin. and Rich Swan in a great trio match.
Arguably one of the strongest matches from The Good Brothers’ time on Impact Wrestling, if not the strongest, this would see them once again working alongside Kenny Omega, with the trio of men working extremely well with each other. By winning the match, Omega would eventually dethrone Swann for the World Championship.
3/10 Dark Order & Hangman Page vs The Super Elite, Elimination Match – AEW Fight For The Fallen 2021
Throughout the summer of 2021, AEW would be on fire, with a featured storyline that would see the rise of Hangman Page as he battled for the right to challenge his former tag team partner, Kenny Omega, for the AEW World Championship. Culminating in a ten-man elimination match at AEW Fight For The Fallen, Dark Order & Hangman would take on the Super Elite in a crazy tag team match.
One of the best tag team matches and television matches of the year, the ten men would deliver one of the most memorable matches in AEW Dynamite history, while telling an extremely compelling story in the process. The Super Elite would take down the babyface team, and everyone involved would look great.
2/10 Bullet Club vs Team Ring Of Honor – ROH & NJPW Global Wars 2015
Another older match for Gallows & Anderson would see them teaming with AJ Styles and the Young Bucks on a joint ROH and NJPW show in 2015, where the unit would take on Team ROH, comprised of War Machine, The Briscoes and Roderick Strong.
With a lineup of high-caliber talent, there was no way this matchup was going to be lacking, and it surely wasn’t. In the main event of the pay-per-view, Bullet Club surprisingly lost in a nearly 17-minute long affair. The match would serve as a strong future showcase for top wrestlers in the form of Styles, Strong, Young Bucks and The Briscoes.
1/10 Kenny Omega, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows vs Jon Moxley, PAC and Rey Fenix - AEW Beach Break 2021
For any WWE fans who have been wary of the return of Gallows and Anderson, watching this Trios Match from the 2021 edition of AEW Beach Break should ease those feelings. Despite the fact that many have said that the team has not been so good in recent years, this match would say otherwise.
This was a match where Gallows and Anderson weren’t taken either, as they did a great job in the ring against babyface’s team and meshed quite well with Omega. With fans likely to be looking forward to threesome action on Raw between Styles & the Good Brothers vs. Judgment Day, fans may have a reason to get excited!
