Both men are former Olympic medalists with backgrounds in amateur wrestling, and are both smaller than the typical WWE superstar. Over the years, Gable has shown a world class in-ring ability, and on occasion has been given the chance to show the world his brilliant charisma, playing both heel and babyface effectively. According to a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the expectation going forwards is that at some point, Julius and Brutus Creed of The Creed Brothers tag team will join forces with Chad Gable. Ever since their main roster call-up, The Creeds have impressed in matches but have yet to really enter any form of storyline and gain consistent TV time. For new blood on the main roster, they need something to really kick-start their careers, and this could be it.

They have a similar style to Gable, and would go wonderfully hand in hand with him. This sort of unit with these types of wrestlers will very much feel like the second coming of Team Angle – Kurt Angle and the World’s Greatest Tag Team, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin. In the original iteration, Angle was the mouthpiece, Benjamin and Haas did his dirty work, whilst also climbing the ranks in the tag team division, with the group trying to dominate several parts of WWE. When looking at Gable and The Creeds, this formula should be followed, with Gable gunning for the Intercontinental Title and The Creeds going after the WWE Tag Team Championships.

When looking at the history of Team Angle, it is safe to say that WWE did not make the most of the unit. Despite fans looking back fondly on the group, their tenure together lasted a little over six months before breaking up and going their separate ways. It wasn’t too long later that Benjamin and Haas broke up as a pairing, only spending a brief period in the WWE tag team division. WWE really missed here, as all three would have been better off together. When looking at Gable and The Creeds, they have a chance in making this faction an improved version of this beloved unit of the past.

With a longer tenure, more feuds, and more titles, Gable and The Creeds can become a memorable unit that may overshadow Team Angle, rather than being a parody of it. It wouldn’t bring any amount of shame for WWE to present this act in a similar way, just as long as they improve on it and learn from previous mistakes. WWE is in a period where factions are thriving and are having feuds with one another, so throwing this group in the mix too would only bring about good things in the current WWE landscape. It feels inevitable that at some point Gable will be Intercontinental Champion, and having The Creed Brothers by his side as tag champions would make them a force to be reckoned with.
