Kim Kardashian and Kanye West finalize divorce

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are officially divorced. The reality star and rapper finalized their divorce, with the exes reaching an agreement over child custody and property. According to divorce papers, the former couple will have joint physical and legal custody of their four children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.

Additionally, the Grammy winner will be required to pay Kim Kardashian $200,000 per month in child support. West will also be responsible for half of the children’s medical, educational and safety expenses. Both Kardashian and West have waived spousal support. The divorced couple also agreed to resolve disputes over the children by participating in mediation, People reported. However, if either party does not participate, the other party may make the decision in a default dispute.

The couple’s assets, including their property, will be divided based on their prenuptial agreement. The finalization of the divorce comes nine months after Kardashian was declared legally single during a bifurcation hearing. West had previously challenged Kardashian’s request to be declared legally single, but said in a statement at the time: “I have asked my team to expedite the dissolution of my marriage to Kim so that I can put my full attention on our beautiful children.”

Kardashian and West began dating in 2012 and exchanged vows just after two years in May 2014. Their marriage fell into crisis at the height of West’s public outbursts in 2020 after he launched a controversial run for president of the United States.
