Euphoria star Jacob Elordi is a Hollywood heartthrob. However, the actor was not the same as a decade ago. Elordi was an unknown Australian model whose first brush with fame came at a ‘Fashions on the Field’ event during racing season. Recently, photos of Jacob sporting a rather questionable outfit on Stakes Day in 2014 have resurfaced.
The images were rediscovered by the snarky Instagram account Celeb Spellcheck and show the then-15-year-old actor accepting his award. Jacob won Fashions on the Field twice as a teenager, first in 2012 and then two years later. A series of photos showed a young Elordi wearing a fedora with a white shirt, a houndstooth blazer and a bow tie.
Meanwhile, other images showed Jacob wearing a more refined blue blazer, along with a bow tie and checkered fedora, as well as white jeans and tan shoes. As soon as the photos resurfaced online, fans went wild over the old photos, with some saying he looked like a member of the Young Liberals, the youth branch of Australia’s Conservative Party.
Others joked that “it must have been a tough year” at Stakes Day if Elordi was able to win Fashions on the Field in such a boring outfit. At the time, Elordi was still years away from landing the role of Nate in Euphoria, which catapulted him to worldwide fame. Previously, the actor told British GQ that he only had $400 left when he auditioned for the series in Los Angeles and was sleeping in his car on Mulholland Drive.
While discussing her financial struggles before landing her breakout role, Elordi said, “I wasn’t booking jobs, I think I had, I don’t know, $400 or $800 in my bank account, and Euphoria was my last audition before I went to house for a while to earn some money and recover.”
Jacob Elordi played Nate Jacobs on the hit HBO series Euphoria. Elordi plays a high school athlete struggling to control his anger issues, which mask his sexual insecurities. Euphoria Season 2 recently arrived on the streaming platform and has already won a lot of hearts. The hit series has also been renewed for season 3.
