Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe on his future children

In the latest interview with Newsweek, Daniel said: “I want my children, if and when they exist… I would love for them to be near movie sets. While Daniel admitted that there were advantages to growing up in the film industry, he added that the accompanying stardom is to be “avoided at all costs.” The Harry Potter actor shared: “I think if you can get a situation where you’re on a film set without necessarily [thinking] oh, this is going to be a big deal in your life, that’s great. Movie sets are wonderful places. I think many times it can be wonderful for children. But it’s really the fame side that should be avoided at all costs.”

Daniel has been open about using alcohol to cope with his early fame, saying he felt ‘watched over’ too much. He explained to Off Camera host Sam Jones: “For me, the quickest way to forget the fact that you’re being watched is to get really drunk.” The actor added, “And then when you get really drunk, you realize, ‘Oh, people are watching more now because I’m getting really drunk right now, so I should probably drink more to ignore that.'”

Daniel Radcliffe has now been sober since 2010 and for good reason, he credits his friend with helping him quit drinking. The actor then added, “Ultimately, it was my own decision.
