Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles are close friends and former members of the band. However, the One Direction alum recently revealed his true feelings when the Don’t Worry Darling actor rose to stardom after the band split in 2016. In the latest interview with The Telegraph, “I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t So”. It doesn’t bother me at first.
The actor added to the outlet: “Just because I didn’t know where to stand, and really my only point of reference was other members of the band. But it doesn’t surprise me that Harry is the most successful commercially because he really fits the mold of a modern star.” After all, unlike Louis, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Niall Horan, the Harry’s House singer doesn’t just focus on in the music.
Louis, “He also has movies, and the tour he’s done is incredible. It took me a while to figure out where I stand. But I look at Harry like a brother, man. I have a lot of pride in what he is doing.” However, Louis didn’t just struggle with Harry’s success. When the band broke up, he struggled to create his own sound. “It was a little daunting,” he said.
Tomlinson shared: “I had just gotten to a stage where I really started to feel like I had found my groove, I was enjoying writing songs, I felt like I finally figured out where I was in that band. And then it’s like, ‘Okay, well, now we’re going to take a break.’ So there was a bit of smugness on my part, I was frustrated.” Today, the five members of One Direction support each other in their solo careers.

While revealing the support the singer received from his former bandmates, Louis shared, “I’m sure the guys will text me when the album comes out. We control each other, we’re good that way. I ran into Niall at Glastonbury and even though we hadn’t spoken all year, it was like no time had passed.” He added, “Because we’ve had such experiences together in One Direction, this bond that we have is for life.” Louis Tomlinson’s second album, Faith in the Future, is out on November 11.
