Cody Rhodes has also been announced for the event, so it seems unlikely that he won’t be in the show in some capacity. If he, for whatever reason, doesn’t show his face in person at the event, it will be a cruel joke that most fans won’t find funny.
7/10 Not giving Charlotte Flair a big babyface or heel moment
Charlotte Flair’s return to WWE came out of nowhere. The SmackDown women’s division was all over the place and Charlotte Flair was likely back to clean up the division. Her baby-faced personality of hers has been met with mixed reviews.
In order to prepare Flair for the next few months as champion (something some fans already hate), WWE needs to give her a big “babyface moment” that can either help her in her new career or flip the script for fans soon. great. Judgment Day has been booked everywhere in recent months. The stable has helped Rhea Ripley raise her profile with the company. Dominik Mysterio, on the other hand, has struggled. Not even going to jail for a day can help you.
Judgment Day has started to stall and he needs a big moment at Royal Rumble 2023 to gain some steam. Could Finn win the Rumble? Rea could he? Internal storm perhaps? Either way, the faction needs to be talked up by fans as “a big deal” for them to improve their stature among the fans.
4/10 Book a previous winner to win the Rumble
2023 seems like the perfect time to add a new Royal Rumble winner to WWE history. There are plenty of wrestlers on the roster who have never won the Rumble who could make a big impact in 2023 with a win. Cody Rhodes, Bray Wyatt or even Bobby Lashley can earn a lot more by winning the Rumble than a previous winner.
This is not the year for The Rock to come back and win the Rumble. The same goes for the women’s Royal Rumble, there is a long list of talents besides Becky Lynch, Asuka and Ronda Rousey who could win a lot by winning the Royal Rumble 2023.
3/10 Diverting the audience for the worse
WWE knows that fans are hoping to see Cody Rhodes return and Roman Reigns retain his titles. The company loves to surprise fans by diverting their expectations. A “good turn” is always fun. A “sharp bad turn” could be terrible.
If Cody Rhodes appears in a pre-recorded segment, it would be a “bad turn off.” If Charlotte Flair wins the rumble despite the fact that she is already champion, it would be a “bad turn”. WWE should avoid shocking the public for the worst at the Royal Rumble 2023.
